THE STRUGGLE

In the brink of war,
Men will break the law
Houses tend to tear apart
All men with credo will take a path
The rich will seek refuge in their defenses,
And the poor will be left to bear the consequences
Villages will be left in tatters
Survival will be all that matters
Men will fall and trampled underfoot by their own
Poor or rich, the vibrant will be known
He will break through the shackles that hold men bound,
Himself he'll charge to pull the weak from the ground
The rain will fall and the sun will shine
He'll hunger and thirst but will not whine
He believes in his strength and in it he'll strive
On the contrary lies the weak; he too must survive
Though he's not as quick,
He has his brain to do the trick
Before everyone lie two outcomes here
Each of which is very severe
To be victorious and be seen as glorious
Or fall a failure after all you had to endure
In this race, even the strongest men fall
And the weak could overhaul
It is not for the fastest,
But indeed, it is the survival of the fittest.

THE THIEF

How beautiful Eden would have being
What wondrous sight my eyes would have seeing
I would swim in the oceans deep,
Without fear that I would die
The cooling breeze from the see would make me sleep,
Filling my dreams with copious smile
How phenomenal it would have being,
To behold her beautiful vegetation
Where butterflies and bees fare far to rove;
Amid the crumpled leaves of poppy flowers

Luscious grape grow by the bunch
Juicy and drippy is the persimmon
So succulent is the honeydew
Countless are they,
To mention but a few
Yet you gave consent to an old cunning creature
How I wish you said no
I believe the man would have resisted
Now it's all gone; you stole it all
Eve! Eve!! You are a thief.

The Dawn of a New Day

Morning, Morning
Indeed you are pregnant
And no one knows what you will deliver
See your sparkling brilliance
Now men will walk and not stumble
Children will jump around and no one will scold them
Your presence  make the cock crow
It even make the warblers and sparrows to produce chip notes
Every house is busy
Everyone wants to explore you

It was the same yesterday
Some came back crying
Some went out and did not return
Few others came back smiling
How come some people get favoured and others don't?
Is there any message you bring along?
If yes, where do you hide them?
If there are fresh opportunities why not spread them abroad?
You have left men in the Pacific Rim
You are a wolf in sheep clothing
But all of that no longer counts
Now we know you
What will be, will be

#BringBackOurGirls

The world today seem to share same perspective
Every race seem to understand english language
It's written; so that the dumb can read it
Spoken; so that the blind will hear it
The christians cry
The muslims lament
Even the atheists preach it
The birds have hovered every nook and cranny
They sing of it as if it were a new song
This oneness have never being known to man
I believe that this powerful clause will go down in history
It is "Bring Back Our Girls"

2015

                        2015
Though eyes have not seen it
Mouth have spoken it
All hearts have conceived it
From the suckling child to the grey heads
What great calamity is coming our way?
They say the storm is coming
Yes, it is true
I can feel the wind so wild; it is blowing the roof away
The lightning strikes and the thunder booms
I would run, I would run
But where would I run to
Will I leave my father's house and run away?
Who will be here to protect it?
Help! Help!! Somebody please help.

NIGERIA MY COUNTRY

Nigeria, Nigeria
Nigeria my county
They ones called you the giant of Africa
As a child, I basked in the euphoria of love at the sound of her national anthem
Oh! How are the mighty fallen
I heard stories of our armed forces keeping peace in other nations
I heard they called them the Gorilla Army
Who would have thought that a few hundred men would hold us to ransom?
Who are these men and how come they have so much guts?
They had even taken to social media to threaten our great nation
They have caused the sun to blaze at mid-night
Even the most powerful of us now sleep with half an eye closed
Is this what Patrick meant by political higi-haga?
Where days after over 200 girls where abducted another 8 girls got missing
I believe that just like me, these girls had sung the national anthem
They had even said "To serve Nigeria with all my strength"
"To uphold her honor and glory"
Yet my Nigeria stand a confused man.
Where is her honor and glory?
Who is responsible for this great calamity that has befallen us?
The truth need be told
Our leaders need to move from sharing money to saving lives
I am tired of persons coming to put up appearances on national television
We have a president who has veto power
Whose major task right now is to see to our security
I join voices with the rest of the world today to say
Bring back our girls
